What does ‘Rest On Your Laurels” mean?
The origin of the phrase ‘to rest on one’s laurels’ stems back from ancient Greece. It was during this time wreaths made up of the laurel leaves were worn as symbol of victory and status. To be able to rest on one’s laurels would mean to relax and rest on one’s previous accomplishments and was first used during a retirement speech. To be able to ‘rest on your laurels’ would mean you have accomplished a great many things and can retire. For this site, ‘Rest On Your Laurels’ would mean you are now financially independent which is the primary goal this site is geared to helping you achieve.

If a laurel is a single accomplishment, then laurels would be many accomplishments. Resting on a single laurel means we are content with one accomplishment for the duration of our lives. To many, this would be our education and then our day job. Regardless how much we earn while working a day job, we are dependent on a ‘single point’ of failure. If we lose our jobs, we lose our income. That brings us to the other purpose of this site; to help you obtain multiple streams of income.
